About Us

A History of Outstanding Service

For 50 years, our members have relied on Touchstone FCU for a full range of products and services to achieve their financial goals. Originally founded as R and D Federal Credit Union in 1957, we became Avco Mass Federal Credit Union in 1969. We expanded our membership and geographical reach in 1992, when we merged with Mount Auburn Hospital Employees Federal Credit Union. As we added new employer groups, expanded membership, and built our product offerings, we needed a name to reflect our membership and objectives. In July 2004, we changed our name to Touchstone Federal Credit Union.

The name Touchstone and our tag line, “Personal service comes standard”, illustrate our commitment to offer friendly, one-on-one attention. A touchstone is defined as “an excellent quality or example that is used to test the excellence or genuineness of others.” We want to represent our members' standard of quality, personal service.

We offer products and services to serve members at every stage of their financial lives. Whether you're planning for retirement, buying your first home, planning for college, or buying your first car, we can help you reach your goals. Since busy members need a variety of options to manage their finances, we offer convenient technologies such as touchstone@home Internet banking and bill payment services and 24-hour telephone banking with TouchTone Teller. If you do business at our branch locations, you can count on us for personal, friendly and expert service.
